face-to-face with the budak-budak nakal..

i was among the budak-budak senyap dan baik-baik back in school.. and they were among the most notorious lads of our times.. but here we are 27-years later working together towards realizing our simple goals & visions of reuniting old friends, rekindling old memories and nurturing new ones..

vik-chan and i were never on speaking-terms back in school.. nor have i ever talked to zubair-hassan.. and asmuni-johari was always scaring me away with his blunt & loud remarks..

these 3-lads and a handful of others including our main-organisor hasmadi-ibrahim were the budak-budak nakal during our teenage years in school.. at one time or another, these guys had gained fame, glamour & notorieties through their public cannings, school-expulsions and other (petty) offences..

i'm amused that through the years and through some other not-so-baik and not-so-nakal friends in-between us to keep us connected over the past 3-decades.. these former misbehaving teenagers are now less notorious and infact are actively involved in our current alumni activities..

besides hasmadi being our main-man for perlis&sekitar members for many years already.. zubair was my assistant-photographer that night.. vik was the multi-media expert.. and asmuni was exchanging family-tips with us, girls..

vik and i sat face-to-face, eyes-to-eyes on this same table during BBQ-night at hasmadi's house, briefly exchanging views and ideas about our more professional-looking future website that he's going to create and link to my blog and to our school-alumni.. and i came away all warm & fuzzy..

yeah, there's definitely still hope in our troubled children.. ;))

and we definitely look forward to this new website that vik chan is going to create, hopefully before our next gathering, which we'd try to organize on a yearly basis from now onwards, yes..?? some potential/preferred locations for another 3days&2nites' event that were mentioned are bukit tinggi and ipoh's lost world..?? towards the end of 2009..??

and rosmah the budak senyap and the budak baik is now the, what..?? chairperson..??

this 3days-2nites perlis-reunion wouldn't have been able to attract the interest of perlis&sekitar members if some KL&sekitar members didn't take the time, effort and trouble to travel all the way.. ada yang sejauh dari kuantan dan ada yang dah bersiap-sedia memulakan perjalanan seawal 7 pagi untuk sampai keperlis sebelum dinner-time, 25dec..

hamdan-salleh, najmi-ahmad, badrulhisham-sulaiman, norazlan-ghazali dan husna-nor-habibi membawa keluarga masing-masing.. sementara hasnuden-hashim, zuradi-othman, nordin-rahim, dahlina-daut, faizah-ibrahim dan saya berlenggang solo..

saya diberitahu, jalani-abdullah sekeluarga rupa-rupanya datang juga all the way from putrajaya, tetapi datang 2-hari lebih awal..?? dan hamdan & azlan sekeluarga cuma sempat menghadirkan diri sekejap semasa all-black-dinner, dan kemudian bergegas pulang malam itu juga kerana ada urusan-urusan kerja..

whilst attending reunions with family members strengthened the family ties and would always be promoted in our future events, travelling and sharing rooms together with old school friends provided a different bonding experiences altogether..

3 full days and 2 full nites gossiping and exchanging old/new stories in the car, room and every where we went during that period was a lot of fun and pure enjoyment which went beyond my expectations.. some old mysteries and old secrets were uncovered, and some new mysteries and new secrets were developed.. here i am hoping that my travelling/room mates, faizah and dahlina and also husna, would be discreet enough not to reveal whatever we've accidentally shared and spilled out during our joking-sessions and friendly-banters to others outside our newly-formed foursome-alliance.. ;))

we now have a blog..??

we already have a yahoogroup formed way back circa 2001-2002, moderated by azizur-rahman-abu-hanifah @jijun.. we also created a tripod-description of our group around the same time, hoping that it could lead to the creation of a website, and this was done by adzhar-kadir @azhar-kadiaq.. and now we have a blog maintained by rosmah-yaakub @amoi..??

all these previous and current efforts mempunyai tujuan yang sama: mengeratkan silatul-rahim sesama kita walaupun telah berdekad lamanya kita meninggalkan sekolah.. (my BM masih boleh dapat distinction tak? ;))

hopefully through these 3 web-mediums, those other friends that are still 'lost' and uncontactable till now could now reach us much easier..

these 'current' photos were taken since the past 3-4years ago, eversince i bought my first digicam!! bukan semua gambar diambil individually, but some have been cut & cropped to get the faces and part of the chests only.. bottom body-parts have been excluded to keep everyone guessing.. dah gemuk ke, kurus ke..?? ;)

yeah.. apart from the tiny wrinkles and little grey hairs.. we haven't changed that much, huh..??
